Let’s Encrypt is an open-source project supported by a number of companies, including OVH. This certification is recognised by the most popular web browsers. OVH aims to make these certificates available in a simple and automated way, in order to encourage secure internet connections. In 2016 alone, OVH generated more than 1.5 million Let’s Encrypt certificates for your customers' websites.
Secure exchanges with HTTPS protocol
HTTPS protocol uses an X509 certificate (RSA 2048 bits or more) and TLS protocol to establish an encrypted connection between your website visitors and the server hosting your website, thus reducing the risk of personal data or banking details being intercepted by hackers. A padlock icon will appear in the browser's address bar, showing that your website is secure and authenticated by an official certification authority.
DV Certificate
DV (Domain Validation) certificates check that the organisation in question owns exclusive rights for using the domain name it wishes to receive the certificate for. This way, a digital certificate can secure data transferred between the website and its visitors.
SSL as a Service
The SSL certificate is now included in all OVH web hosting plans, and activates HTTPS protocol by default and for free - no technical skills are required. It is valid for 90 days, and will be renewed automatically without any action required from the user. HTTPS protocol is activated automatically when you create your subdomains.
